Matt, an incoming fourth-year student in our On Campus Transition (OCT) college experience program, loves horses! He is a member of the UNF Equestrian Club, where he rides Western style, and competes against other college clubs. This past season he placed first, second and third multiple times in Intermediate Horsemanship. He also placed first in the Novice Class for Novice Horsemanship. His winning record qualified him for the regional competition! Matt was selected to speak at the 2018 OCT graduation to congratulate the graduates and welcome in his senior class.
Matt discovered the OCT program & Equestrian Club through a high school friend who attended OCT.
When Matt isn’t competing, he is attending classes and hanging out with friends. In OCT, he has reliable housing just off campus, where he has the same lifestyle as most students at UNF.
He loves the opportunity to have these experiences while learning life skills such as managing his responsibilities and staying organized.
