TIAA Bank Helps Open Doors to Hope and Independence
TIAA Bank and The Arc Jacksonville shared a vision for better living. This vision led to the development of The Arc Jacksonville Village, the nation’s first community of its type dedicated to establishing a lifestyle of independence for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

How it all Started
The Arc Jacksonville’s relationship with TIAA Bank deepened in 2001 when the bank hired Jason, then a 22-year-old man with Down syndrome, as a mail clerk. The Arc Jacksonville provided Jason with job training, readying him for the workforce, and knew his potential. Today, 15 years later, Jason continues to be a valued member of the TIAA Bank team. TIAA Bank is setting the bar high as a leader in the field of employing individuals with disabilities.
Philanthropically, TIAA Bank has been a long-time supporter and corporate sponsor of The Arc Jacksonville’s many Dinner with Bill fundraisers and, most recently, of The Arc Jacksonville Village.
TIAA Bank’s role in bringing the vision of The Arc Jacksonville Village to life was instrumental. Through their support, guidance and financial commitments, The Village successfully opened its door to 121 residents in May, 2016.
